Kendall's coefficient of concordance (Kendall's tau) is a measure used to assess the relationship between two variables. This relationship shows how similar the two variables are to each other. The SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) program provides a "correlation" analysis tool to calculate Kendall's coefficient of concordance. You can calculate Kendall's coefficient of concordance in SPSS by following these steps:
Open your data set in SPSS and open the data viewer.
In the data viewer, select the two variables for which you want to calculate Kendall's coefficient of concordance.
Click the "Analyze" menu and select the "Correlation" option.
The "Correlation" window will open. Here, select the two variables for which you want to calculate Kendall's coefficient of concordance and click the "OK" button.
SPSS will calculate Kendall's coefficient of concordance for the selected variables and display the results in an output window.
Note: Kendall's coefficient of concordance is used for unordered variables. If the variables you have selected are ordered (ordinal) variables, you need to use the "Kendall's tau-b" measure instead of Kendall's coefficient of concordance in SPSS.
